Went to the doctor some years ago and she told me I had a yeast infection. She said I could have gotten the infection from sexual intercourse but the piece is that I was never sexually active and up until that point I enjoy never been had sex beforehand. Go to another doctor. She is wrong. You don't acquire Yeast Infections from sex! I had my first yeast infection when I was a virgin also hindmost in 1982.

Could be a million things. Using the 'wrong' soap, wipeing incorrectly, not urinating after sex [big one for me], stress, using antibiotics, certain birth control pills, using lube containing glycerin, etc etc...
