It is unlikely that it is an ingrown down, as the ear has short fine hairs. it may be a simple pimple or a small cyst. Warm compresses may oblige reduce the swelling and may cause it to form a "head". Do not pulp on it as it will make it worse, spread the infection. If it does not reduce contained by size and soreness in a day or so you may call for to see a doctor and get an antibiotic. Kind of big for an ingrown hair.but once you pop it...you'll see the curls inside if it is. Take some tweezers and pull it out. I have see some as long as 2 inches.
