When you're a kid (hell, any time) you only pay attention to what interests you..conceivably he didn't catch your interest till that specific moment. When your grandmother talks "...and you remember Aunt Jane, right? Well she have to get her pancreas out ...and you remember Harry? He." You can see how you could have avoided audible range about him.. It's also possible that even within your age group, here were cliques, and he may have be in the house playing with matchbox cars while you be outside skipping rope.
