How can i burn calorie more than i consume?

My recommended daily calorie intake is around 1600. I hear that everywhere on weight loss article. "Burn more calories than you consume." How contained by the world can I, or anyone else can burn that much calorie. I barely can burn 500 calorie a day. I own this calorie counter and it tells me how many calories i burned and it comes out to be 450 and sometimes even smaller amount. I do a lot after school sports, morning run, weigh training. Can someone clarify that for me? and provide me with details as to how many calorie should i burn if i want to lose 2 pound a week? I'm 5' 9" 160 trying to turn for 145 if possible?

Which builds more muscles contained by your legs, running or cycling?

Girls this is for u?

The source of the confusion in most of these charts is that they don't include your basal metabolic calorie burn--the amount you burn just individual alive and breathing. Most people of average build burn 100 calories an hour just anyone alive. There's a decent calorie counter on http://www.collectivewizdom.com/calories...

and a good calorie burning routine on http://www.mangoboss.com/SixPackAbs

This is kinda of strange to ask..?

Ben,

Your body a moment ago for breathing is burning calories. Believe it or not sitting at your computer burns calories. So if 1600 is what your body needs stick with it. Be glad you are not as big as me next to my work out routine I need 2400 calories.

Hope this helps,
Stu
