Why do people ask for medical advice when the answer they get is go to the doctor?
Answers: Sometimes they want a more personal answer,also some people find it quite difficult to say all that they want to in a 10 minute consultation, others are keen not to look foolish,.
yeah but some people ask stupid questions (and yes, there are stupid questions) like, "Am I pregnant?" which warrant a test, not a question on this site. Obviously, we're not able to answer that question accurately. Go see a GYN! I suppose that some people think they're bothering the doctor and like to get a variety of opinions before they go. Some problems posted on here wouldn't warrant a medical opinion anyway..
Probably for reassurance and because they don't want to drive to the doctor every time they have an itch. Maybe money is an issue. Its often for reassurance , someone who answers may have had a similar symptom and recovered ,
