Vicodin vs Codeine vs Percocet ..?

Which is more addictive? My friend was on Vicodin and was afraid he would take addicted, so the doctor switched him to Codeine. I always thought Codeine was more addictive? Would Percocet be a devout alternative that would take care of the agony (Shoulder Impingement Syndrome) without the addiction and withdrawals? Any serve would be appreciated?

Answers:    Vicodin is hydrocodone and is a schedule 3 narcotic...it is addictive but always have a NSAIS in it like APAP, ibprofen or another over the counter affliction drug, that is used to make sure empire don't abuse it (take 5 instead of one) but some still do..percocet is oxycodone a schedule 2 narcotic next to APAP (acetaminophen) aka tylenol, Codeine is the base drug that they above two are used to manufacture.it is surrounded by the smae class schedule as oxycodone andthe schedules are used toi classify potential danger of abuse...

These drugs taken properly can casue physical dependence meaningthe body would go through wthdrawal in need it's use that is the nature of opiates adn the doctor should properly ween someone stale opiates..dependence differs from "addiction" addiction is the psychological urge to take more than needed or more the RUSH, BUZZ, etc instead of the pain nouns effects..and there is a luadry list of behaviors assocated beside it..

If he is concerned with opaite addiction, there is gabapentin or tramamdol which is smaller amount addicting and good for some types of pain..
Best of luck...
