It depends. I've drunken whole bottle fulls for their DXM content, but you need to mind your Ps and Qs.
DXM is common in cough syrups and can be taken surrounded by fairly large doseages. Many other busy ingredients can be very dangerous if taken contained by large amounts, commonly Acetaminophen, Aspirin, Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Pseudoephedrine are the ones to watch out for. If it contains any of those, depending on how much the being took you could be in trouble.
Other common ingredients will only cause vomiting, headaches and other mortified but non-fatal sideffects.
If it's just glycerol and sugar syrup you'll feel not at your best but be fine..
