Selenium 100 mg PO each day?
I have been trying to numeral out why a patient would be on 100 mg of selenium PO daily. I know its a supplement, but as to why she is taking it, assessment prior to leadership, side effects and how to determine if the medication is effective...I'm coming up with zilch. No info even in my drug book, the only physical info I can find is related to a dandruff shampoo...but thats not what she's taking. Any point in the right direction would be super helpful. Thanks!

More than 100 mg of selenium per day is largely not recommended although even 200 mg per day is fairly safe as the toxic dose is normally regard as being 300 mg per day.
