Although they adjectives have some weight gain side effects, Remeron is the most pronounced of the class. It is in reality used as an appetite stimulant (especially in the elderly) by some practitioners. Take to your prescribing MD and ask them why they specifically Rx'd Remeron for you and if they believe there may be a better likelihood due to your hinderance for weight gain. I do not know your diagnosis, but I would suggest you discuss the option of starting another anti-psych med such as Abilify or Geodon since they trend towards lower side effects. Remeron is a psyshotrophic medication that is especially strong. I have to assume you need this for your mental form or your Dr. would not have Rxed it to you. First off you should hold discussed this with him while you were here. I think the mental health issue you hold far out weighs any weight gain. Talk to your Dr. again or Pharmacist for further suggestion. You can also watch your diet and eat clean which will keep your weight surrounded by check.
