My roommate seem to enjoy diarrhea but she's never taken Pepto Bismol and is worried of any possibility...

My roommate came back from dinner w/ a friend complaining of stomach pains and seem to have diarrhea because she's in the bathroom as I write this and say she has, "...loose, watery stools." She's not sure if it's diarrhea though because she claims that it can't be call diarrhea until she's had these symptoms for a while and for now, it's "newly a bad trip to the bathroom". What do you think? Also (and more importantly) she wishes to know about taking Pepto Bismol. She's afraid of any side effects and worries about any possibility of it making her have a feeling worse rather than better. I've never taken Pepto Bismol and either have she but she does have the tablets in her prescription cabinet so...I know, I live w/ a moron but I love her so help me help her. Thanks.

Answers:    If she is on any other medication, call a pharmacist and ask if there is any grounds not to take the pepto with doesn`t matter what she is on. She might have food poisoning. If she stays sick for long, I'd take her to the emergency room..
Pepto binds it up so that it isn't as loose, side effects are scheduled on the label and I've never heard of any beyond those

Tell her to steal them if she still feels stomach pains, and if she has diarrhea next it is her body trying to get rid of something and the pepto just make it easier.
