Methadone & Xanax, asked b4, but no tangible response, PLS HELP!?
Answers: Xanax is a benzo and oxys are opiates. If you can substitute methadone for oxys that would be the best. Withdrawing from benzos and oxys at the same time would probably be too much and you would relapse. I would keep taking the xanax..
I've be a detox and rehab nurse and honestly, you are better off without the methadone. Look at the inhabitants in the clinic when you go, you'll see the are the walking, living departed. Whoever made that crap needs to be quartered and drawn. I have one patient that spent 30 days in our facility detoxing and contained by the end, he was still a walking zombie. His soul be dead. I had to come sour of Oxy it sucked, but I did it and when I did I found out that the Oxy wasn't helping very much after all. Try anything but methadone first! I agree next to what the nurse said. (I'm also in the field) Do whatever you own to do to get off the Oxy. A medically supervised de-tox is the best, possibly take Buprenorphine for the beginning, but give up your job the detox taking nothing if you can.
Before you go to detox you might want to craft some changes in your time so that when you get out the Oxy isn't so easy to achieve. Like get rid of the drugs you have around right immediately, tell your friends that you're serious and they should help you or will you alone. Things like that.
Opiate withdrawal is miserable and you'll yearning you were dead, but extremely few people actually die while going through it. So be as strong as you can be, you can patently do this.
