Is drowsiness adjectives near a stroke?

I recently had a relative who have a stroke. She has some mild slurring and weakness, but cognizant and competent to get around some. She is very drowsy light of day and night, often falling asleep during coversations contained by the hospital. Is this common?

Answers:    Yes, very adjectives.

The way it was explained to me is: a stroke is a fundamentally traumatic injury to the brain. The brain uses much more energy than people realize and heal best when it can use the most energy. So the brain, basically, shuts down the body so it can sleep and restore to health quicker.

Another note of interest: the brain will heal better near very long periods of sleep at hours of darkness rather than several naps throughout the daylight. This has something to do with sleep cycles.

This should take better with time, but I was told it could bring a very long time-- several years and your relative may always enjoy some challenge with drowsiness..
Yes it is regrettably

I've been in that same situation
