Maybe the doctor made your prescription too strong. When you clutch your eye exam, the number one rule is to relax and not squint to try to see. On the other hand, don't articulate you can't see if you can. even if you can make it out a moment or two, that will give a more accurate result.

I wear eyeglasses. Headaches usually happens when it's your first time to wear it. I assume you're close sighted, so the trick there is to wear it one and only when you need it so eyes could adjust.
I suggest to ask the supplier for ultra contracted lenses.. so no matter what level your nearsightedness/astigmatism your eyes wouldnt look as bulgy.
