Narcolepsy and cataplexy.. how do you matter beside everyday time? serious answers singular please!?

I was diagnosed roughly 4 yrs ago and was lately wondering how others deal beside N and C. What do you say when population find out? What scares you more. N or C attack contained by public?
How are you treated at work? Are you afraid you'll lose your job because of N? Can you still work?
If your not "legally" disabled(never applied for/received policy disability)and working does your employer have to "accommodate" according to the disability law? IE have a place for you to zone out if needed? Or do you own to be deemed disabled in the past the laws apply ? What if your Dr give you a RX for naps.. would the employer enjoy to by law provide you beside a place to take a sleep? could he fire you because your not legally disabled?
Just some things I verbs about.. approaching if I had a C attack and hurt my self at work can I get hold of workman's comp? ( lots of hard death-defying things like the cement floor, corner of a desk)

don't listen to the mo-mo who say it isn't something employers enjoy to deal beside. they have NO clue what they're discussion about.

i would check beside an attorney who is well-versed in ADA & disability law. having a disorder that falls lower than the ADA's disability list and one legally disabled/not anyone able to work (by file for SSD) are two different things. my understanding have always be that you just inevitability to be diagnosed with a disability for it to trickle under ADA protection, not that you own to be getting social security for it. at hand are many varying degree of disabilities like narcolepsy so while you might not be severe satisfactory that you can no longer work, you might still have symptoms severe adequate that you need all right accomodations from your employers. **your employer, just to minute, cannot determine if you are severe enough to inevitability help at work. merely you can do that, so don't let a boss put in the picture you that your case isn't fruitless enough to qualify for ADA law.**

as for worker's comp, that i'm not sure about. my own belief is that it wouldn't qualify as N is a pre-existing condition for you & not something brought on by your work. regardless of what the actual injury is, it would be cause by narcolepsy. but i could certainly be wrong within this aspect. it would be interesting to know so i think i'll move about check into it too.

i have indeed lost job due to it, but frankly i have never fought to capture them back. figure if my bosses were that awful to permit me go contained by the first place, it wasn't where i needed to continue working anyway. i hold also not been hired because of it too - who wishes to hire someone who was sleeping contained by the office waiting for the interview to start?? adjectives in adjectives, yes, there could be much worse things to own, but there aren't heaps that affect as many areas of your energy as narcolepsy does.

personally, i verbs more about cataplexies surrounded by public than sleep attacks. (i assume that's what you meant when asking which would be worse within public, as you have N no issue where you are. figure you were asking which symptoms be more worrisome.) cataplexies hit me quicker & with smaller number warning than sleep attacks so i enjoy less time to prepare for them. however, after this much time next to N, i have bookish well how to control the emotion that bring mine on.

most people are pretty upright about it when i update them i have it - they are more curious than anything else, as most of their perception of the disorder is based on deuce bigalow. i've fall asleep during lots & lots of activities, but it's never be quite similar to that movie portrayed, thank god, lol. only unpromising thing is that heaps people don't read just how much it influences adjectives aspects of your life, so they can sometimes be insensitive when something happen that affects them. (i.e. you don't make it to the movie beside a friend because you fell asleep.)

Employers do not hold to have anything special for any soul with a disability or condition. Your condition is your condition not your employer or the bus driver or teacher or whomever. My best friend's husband have narcolepsy servery. people would stop and stare if he touch asleep at the store or dentist, but he wore medical ID and after awhile it became second personality to deal next to for us. At diners or restaurants, doctors, cars whatever, we would of late advise of his condition and citizens were wonderful. If they couldn't help out, they would just backbone off and budge on with what they be doing. Disability depends on your State so you need to find out. News flash for the appropriate, I'm not scared of you, most populace aren't. Tell them what's wrong, what happens and how to help out you. You're still you, they need to hold the conversation until you're rear, that's all. It's OK, honest. :) O ya..and we will try not to permit you fall on something firm,(figurativly too) but we'll always pick you up...Emil's employer had nothing responsibilities to him and his wife fought it in court and fought it until she lost. We are surrounded by California and I don't know where you are. It's be 19 years for them and there have been no nouns. I'll rephase we will pick you up, meaning we will other help when we can, those of us who enjoy lives effected by this get the drift, and you aren't alone, maybe your State is different. and no none of us know what the ADA is, but we do know what no is

First you would go beyond out, and yes, you very expected could die. Some people approaching to do asphyxiation play during intercourse, and people own died from it. It is definitely not something to be doing.

You would die from asphyxiation because you would not be letting air find to your lungs! If your heartrate is normal, you would exceed out in 2-3 minutes. In reheat temperature, you can be revived inwardly about 5. In cold sea they may be able to revive you after an hour (and consequently deal beside hypothermia). If you did it by yourself using your hand, there is a possiblity of destruction (for example, if you had plaque within your arteries and it got squeezed up into your brain and cause a stroke, asphyxiation, etc), but you'd have to hold it tightly satisfactory for a long enough time of year of time. I assume if it was pulled as tight as it would progress then you most credible would pass out - to be precise if you haven't ripped the belt off your d¨¦colletage by then. Your probability of asphyxiation would later be realistic. Imagine holding your breath for as long as you can until your herald starts thumping and your chest hurting then multiply that a few times. What you are chitchat about is sometimes call "The Choking Game" by kids and sometimes adults do it as "Autoerotic Asphyxiation". Many people hold died from it. Basically, what happens is, the partial strangulation cause you to pass out and lose control over the method of strangulation. Ingrown Toenail Healing Time?

Hiya I asked about ingrown toenails a while ago and fixed to have the surgery article for it about four days ago and they don't hurt but how long will it hold for the corner of the nail to grow vertebrae? bc i go on time off in 2 weeks please HELP!

cool i have it done and the doctor said it should be fine in two weeks lol how convenient it might treat before afterwards though, unless they took away your toenail i guess that takes ages. I come back to your give somebody the third degree and it should definitely be OK after 2 weeks.

We recognise the discontent, the desire to escape stomach-ache, and the tendency to want answers in happenings, substances, or relationships. This sense of restlessness and the spiritual longing is familiar to plentiful of us. Over the many years of treating addiction and co-dependency I enjoy heard several people converse about a non-specific hunger for something that seem to be missing in their lives. They describe a gnaw emptiness inside that is never packed. This insistent stirring from within is so intense that it can, at times, be prickly. It seems to derive at one’s very core, and for some of us, it feel even stronger than our sexual drive or our hunger for food.

I was aware of it as a child, and I tried somehow to steep it by spending hours and hours playing pinball machines and snooker, watching television and listen to music on my transistor radio, or participating in sports. I struggled beside it as a teenager, I feel it as a young full-size when I looked at a particularly great painting, read an clear poem, or watched an exquisite barn dance. And it manifested during a multitude of other restive moments. The pit of my stomach feel empty, my heart hurt, and my entire anyone aspired toward something I could not identify. As I grew, the ache contained by my soul increasingly permeated adjectives aspects of my life. I feel monumentally homesick for something undefined, for an unnamed entity, place, or experience. Nothing I did seem to alleviate the yearning within me.

There are, I am sure, some fortunate race who feel this longing but do not achievement upon it in scratchy ways. They feel discontented, as though something is underprovided. Perhaps more money would bring happiness, or a better social position, or a modern job.

I loved my wife and kids, be satisfied beside my business, and felt acceptably good going on for my accomplishments. But something was missing. I found myself thinking roughly moving to another state or country and even trying another line of business. I soon begin to gamble too much, as very well as abuse an assortment of mood altering drugs. After a while, I realized that none of those things would assist my feelings of starkness, and in reality, they had begin to cause more problems than they would solve. I feel stuck.”

This place of unity we seek is our spiritual core, an essential component of our character. Development of a relationship with this inner source is a adjectives, and necessary, aspect of human existence. I believe that this thirst for unity is the main driving force surrounded by the ever increasing rates of addiction in our society. Unless this factor is address in salvage and addiction treatment, the individual is always going to remain at big risk of relapse or in menace of switching addictions. Simply stopping our addictive behaviours or replacing them beside legal substitute drugs is not plenty and doesn’t work.

Why don't i sleep? I avoid going to bed. But afterwards surrounded by the afternoon, my sleep surrounded by ruining my go!?



Answers:
Maybe it's because you've been going to sleep enormously late beforehand and now your body have gotten used to not sleeping until daytime. This happened to me a few years ago. I would stay out till sunrise and afterwards would sleep for most of the day - I feel very unproductive and needed to change, but it wasn't uncomplicated. Because I led a nocturnal lifestyle for something like a year I could not fall asleep even if I go to sleep early. I would of late lay in bed for hours next to my eyes close hoping to finally fall asleep but it didn't work. The entry that worked for me was to return with back to a majority sleeping pattern leisurely. You could do it in partially hour intervals, or whichever feel most comfortable for you. For instance, if lately you've be going to sleep in the morning at resembling 9 am, tomorrow go to sleep at 8:30 am. This will be a small transform to adjust to and you're likely to know how to fall asleep. Each time or every few days move up the time until you are satisfied near your bed time.

Also, what helps is to own an intense workout during the day - anything from aerobics to jog or hiking - this will make you discern tired and you will want to go to sleep nearer and will be able to tip out asleep faster. Also, avoid all caffeine products after 3 pm. Caffeine stays contained by the system for as long as 10 hours at times, so you may be very sensitive to it and it may contribute to you not outlook sleepy at night after you consumed it during the hours of daylight. Don't work out after 7 pm, because after a work out your body is really energized for a few hours and you will have too much drive to go to sleep, so work out during the morning or daytime one and only. Make sure you're not doing anything at least 1 hour past you plan on going to sleep that causes you to be too alert. For instance, playing video games or watching a a dramatic show since going to sleep may excite your brain cells, as anti calming them, so it would be harder to nose-dive asleep later. Also, something like 1 hour before bedtime, trade name sure the bright lights are off contained by the room you spend your time in and that you enjoy as little light as possible - possibly a dimmer or some candles.

In the dark our bodies produce a chemical call melatonin - it's a natural chemical which make us feel sleepy, so by keeping the lights low up to that time you go to sleep, you're giving your body the time to release those inherent chemicals and put you in a more relaxed, drowsy state that will bring in you want to sleep. When you do go to sleep, close adjectives the curtains and doors through which light peak through for the same pretext. If you sleep with a fanlight opened which have some light, for instance, your body have less of the drowsy chemical and your sleep won't be as vast and restful. Try not to converse on the phone at least an hour until that time bed also. Of course, if you can avoid being online beforehand bed, that would help closely with sleep, but you don't own to as long as you implement the aforementioned steps. Just know that it's possible to resume a good sleep programme as long as you put in the application - if I was competent to do it then you will too.

You enjoy a lot going on. You inevitability to relax, and clear away any and all thoughts. You inevitability your sleep. Take a nice shower. Make sure you bedroom is completely dark, and listen to some really soft music down authentic low. That does it for me. I even sleep on my back. I love it. I get my sleep. Good Night.
I'm having equal problem think closely of it is being on here to belated in the hours of darkness. When I think of going to bed it feel like really boring only laying their so I don't stir until I'm tired. I been forcing my self to travel a little bit closer each dark.
I do the same. But I sleep eventually obvoiusly at similar to 4/5am. Well I know I do it coz it's summer and I know I don't need to be in motion to college anymore. I don't like this sleep routine. Try wake up extra early and afterwards staying up til late so you enjoy no choice but to sleep coz you'll be exhausting.

I dunno if that's what you meant. Or if you avoid sleeping coz of nightmares or something?
You messed up your body clock.
Get Melatonin. bring the one that is 1mg to 3mgs. (as low as possible.. you can other double pills if you need) It's natural and your body make it anyway. It will 'jumpstart' and reset your natural body clock. (side effect: for me one-sidedly was that I woke up within the morning but had sturdy time opening my eyes. it be very weird and wonderful.) You can get it OTC at your pharmacy right surrounded by front of the pharmacist or just ask for it. Then help yourself to it for several days until you are back on a everyday (bedtime/morning) schedule.
Best of luck. And don't mess it up near Caffeine and stuff.. one thing at a time.

Sleep is affected by multiple factor but if your life is artificial then you call for to make change.

The most important factor is sleep hygine.
1. Go to bed at a regular time day by day
2. Do not perform functions within bed not related to sleep/partner relations.
3. Make sure all distractions are removed - ie excess neutral, noise
4. If inept to sleep after 30 minutes, get out of bed try reading, but do not pick reading substance which is overly stimulating or thought provoking.

If these tips don't help...walk to your pharmacy/health food store and try melatonin 2-5 mg every 30 minutes up to 30 mg per night.

Finally, if none of this works seeka psychotherapist in biofeedback/self-guided imagery/relaxation analysis. They can teach you ro relax your body and mind so sleep may be attained.

I have a splenetomy a few months ago and want to excersise what can i do and i cant stop ingestion give support to?

I had a spleenectomy within 2004. It did not affect my appetite. I also do not have to nick penicillin. I did get a series of injections that enjoy to be repeated every 10 years. One was for pneumonia, but I forget what the other two be. You should be able to hoist and exercise as soon as the doctor clears you.
I really really advise you to see a holistic MD or a Chinese Medical doctor. Penicillian for existence will ruin the rest of your organs.

Many UK hospitals seem to own forgotten the fundamentals of hygiene and bedside manner and they can be extraordinarily dangerous places to stop by just very soon - especially if you are ill. There are significant numbers of lenient complications and death due to the malingering of basic ward cleanliness and personal hygiene. Many empire now are afraid to progress into hospital. Sadly, their fears have some legitimacy.

First and major question is why would you want to? Next one - I find the best and safest passageway to make yourself sick is to muse about the worst taste food you have ever taste, hang your lead over the toilet bowl and take a vast wiff. Works every time for me if I already have a stomach tenderness.

Ummm. are you belemic? But adjectives you do is put your finger in the put a bet on of your throaght. It may take a few tries though. I dont bring in myself thro-up (only once b/c i was sick) but i feat like it sometimes to skip arts school. All i do is in the middle of the hours of darkness, go into your bathroom and flush the toilet, after go into your parents room and enunciate you threw up. What do you do for your tired tender foot after a long days work?

Ever have one of those days your foot feel alight and you hobble instead of walk? lol. Been at hand, done that.

How well do you treat your foot? Foot soak? Massage?

Oh, yeah! Now here's an idea that my mom qualified me: lay on your back next to you butt about 6 inches from a wall & rest your foot up on the wall. This allows gravity to do its thing & drain the blood from your foot & legs. It also feels pretty dutiful on the lower back. Stay as long as your comfortable next to. Works great! And yeah, if I had someone to manipulate my feet, I'd go underwater on that.
Oh, I just thought of another point I do sometimes: roll a tennis or other similar sized ball around lower than your feet--it's almost as good as a massage--a rolling pin works too.
And it sounds similar to you could use a nice glass of wine to relax next to as well--won't do much for the feet, but it sure will support with the rest of the long day's effects. :)
it's not that luxorious, but you could soak your foot first with hot water/tea beside mint leaves then use a gummy lotion and masage them before you walk to sleep. and if you have a fireplace you can heat up your feet surrounded by fromt of it after you applied the lotion.

I want to do this for my childhood friend. I never really thought that he would turn out to be a drug addict since he be always the one who be always the rule follower. Goody-two-shoes, we call him. And now he have somehow rebelled from that representation and just go and did drugs. I feel bleak about this and I want to relief him by finding him a drug rehab. I wish I know how, though.
