I have worked surrounded by the nursing profession for 23 years, if you take the proper steps for protecting yourself, ie wash your hands, wearing gloves, other take extra procaution when blood is involved you will be fine. It take a certian type of person to work within a nursing home, so dont expect the job to be natural it is hard work and some times long hours. You dont own to be in a setting resembling a nursing home to get a infectious disease purely take a suitable look around the world. That is not something most people would ask for.

The worst constituent IMO was the blood. The actual worst feeling is have to keep those rolls of bloody spitty gauze within your mouth. The salt dampen rinses made things a bit better but not much, you can also bite on teabags too, that's nice for some variety. But the bloody gauze! Swallowing that blood make you a little ill too. This is just the first morning or two though, after that it's ok.
Plan on a few days of rest at home, you'll get through it fine.
