I got my cartilage pierced 4 days ago..I've be cleaning it 3 times a day beside the antiseptic stuff they gave me but the cartilage is EXTREMELY SORE. I know it's average to be sore but like to the point that if I accidently rub against it taking bad my shirt or something I will scream, lol. It is fine. Trust me. The first 2 weeks after getting pierced are the worst and you have to be actual careful when shifting or it will hurt bad. After that you should see noticable difference. Mine would throb for almost an hour after the littlest bump. But after those 2 weeks it didnt hurt close as bad.
It's suitable that you are cleaning it with the stuff they give you. What you might also want to try is sea saline soaks twice a day earlier cleaning. This will help verbs out your ear and promote healing. Its what the piercers make clear to you to do if you get an infection. Take a cup of melt water and a teaspoon of the deep salt and hold it up to your ear for 10 min. My ear feel so much better after I do this.
