well...I own been a stomach side sleeper my unbroken life. I've never have any chest pains. However, I do have final pain sometimes and I own a stiff neck most of the time, but I be hoping that was from too much reading.

I think it would nick a whole lotta carrot to improve things. By the age of forty, most society are in goggles, and after forty, just going on for everybody I know over 40 is wearing glasses to read or do up close things. Accept that they are not 20/20 and donate them a rest, put on your glasses.

Hernia surgery experiences?
I have surgery planned for the expire of the month. The doctor said I'll get broad anesthesia. He also said that he'd make a two-inch slit and put mesh (like a tiny fence) to save things in place surrounded by the future. He said the results from laparoscopy own been apt on other procedures but not as good beside hernias, so he doesn't do them anymore for hernias.I have a few questions--Has anyone have the mesh put in? Any thoughts on the two-inch mark v. laparoscopy? Is general anesthesia commonplace for the procedure?
Also, how long before I can drive, work (at a desk), and play basketball/football?

Hi. I am a surgeon's assistant...and we do AMAZING laparoscopic hernia repairs. Wish you lived surrounded by Illinois; I'd refer you. But, since you are already scheduled for conventional hernia repair: yes, nonspecific anesthesia would be the wise choice. He told you he'd use mesh; thoroughly, very adjectives. We also do. Makes for an excellent repair. I'd be amazed if he can do it through only a 2 inch incision though. They're usually a short time larger; remember, since it's considered an "open" (versus laparoscopic) he has to enjoy enough room to work contained by there. So, don't be alarmed if you do hold a larger incision. It's perfectly run of the mill. He'll most likely prescribe some Vicodin for post-op torment. You'll have some pain/swelling contained by the groin, possibly the testicles. He'll probably excuse you from work for 1-2 weeks. It will be a couple months before you play sports, so swing it there for that, okay? Good luck beside your surgery!
Our son had hernia repair surgery when he be 3wks old. They didn't even stitch him up, they used surgical epoxy resin! The incision is indeed very small. The mesh is used to hang on to the hernia from recurring. Also, it really does stipulation to be done under standard anesthesia, you wouldn't want to feel any of this, trust me. As for undertakings following the surgery. It is best to ask your Dr. Most abdominal surgeries need in the order of 6wks to heal satisfactory for normal actions. Driving, is usually OK after 2-3wks. Again, you should ask your Dr. Our son wasn't driving at the time, so I honestly don't know. It is an outpatient surgery, even for litle babies. That doe not mean it isn't still chief surgery. Give yourself time to heal.
