Am i a canidate for a tonsillectomy?
Ive been have issues with my tonsils for times past 2 months or so.They are huge. I am not experiencing any pain. When i utter ahhhhh they touch eachother. My uvula (sorry if mispelt) is always touching one of them, which is irritating. I enjoy trouble talking generally. I need to clear my throat after every 2 words and my voice sounds deaper than run of the mill. Also, i have trouble swallowing. I own to take small bites and chew it till its close to liquid.
I go to the dr about 3 weeks ago and she tested me for mono and strept and both be negative. She give me an antibiotic (which ive finished) and they are still huge. She recc. that i go to a ent dr.
If i could manufacture the decision to own them taken out, i would.
So im basically newly wondering if they would take them soley base on them being big and cause issues with swollowing and discussion.
Has anyone had their tonsils taken out because of this basis?

My tonsils are like the too, and I be scheduled to win surgery a few years back... But a blood issue prevented that from scheduled. But other than that, I be just similar to you, and they were to come out.
=) The ENT doctor will relay you for sure. There are other factors which could be cause your problems, and which could cause you not to hold surgery.

Honey, what you wrote above is what my life be like up until I be 26! I had them taken out FINALLY! And I've never be better---no more sore throats, no more 'deep voice', no more choking, swallowing, etc. been at hand done that.
My tonsils were so huge, that the surgeon asked me for concurrence to keep them within a jar on his DESK!
I'm totally serious! GET THEM OUT!
Plus, since I could only enjoy liquids/soups for about 3 weeks afterwards, I lost 30 pounds.

I went to my doctor for have headaches atleast 3 times a week. She give me a prescription for pills that help headache and high blood pressure.
