Laser Surgery for Ingrown Toenail?
If you have ever have this done, what was it similar to? Did it hurt? Were you able to stroll around normally right after the procedure? Did it cure your ingrown toenail problem?Please, DON'T answer near home remedies. My appointment with the Podiatrist is Thursday afternoon. I'm not sure which procedure I'm have done, but the nurse told me about the laser surgery and I'm have trouble finding good information more or less it.

Treatment
Treatment of ingrown nails ranges from soaking the afflicted nouns to surgery. The appropriate method is dictated by the severity of the condition. Partial removal of the nail or an offending piece of staple. More complex than a complete nail avulsion (removal).
Here, the digit is first injected near a common local anesthetic. After the nouns is numb, the physician will perform an onychotomy surrounded by which he cuts away (ablates) the nail along the periphery that is growing into the skin and pulls out the offending piece of fastener. Any infection is surgically drained. This process is referred to as a "wedge resection" or simple surgical ablation and is non-permanent (i.e., the staple will re-grow from the matrix). The entire procedure may be performed contained by a doctor's office and take approximately thirty to forty-five minutes depending on the extent of the problem. The patient is allowed to run home immediately and the recouping time is anywhere from a few days to a week barring any complications such as infection. As a followup, a physician may prescribe an oral or topical antibiotic or a special soak to be used for approximately a week after the surgery.

It should be noted that some physicians will not perform a complete fastener avulsion (removal) under any but the most extreme circumstances. In most cases, these physicians will remove both sides of a toenail (even if one side is not currently ingrown) and coat the pin matrix on both of those sides with a chemical or sour (usually phenol) to prevent re-growth. This leaves the majority of the nail intact, but ensure that the problem of ingrowth will not re-occur.
Disadvantages: If the nail matrix is not coated beside the applicable chemical or acid (phenol) and is allowed to re-grow, this method is prone to letdown. Also, the underlying condition can still become symptomatic as the nail grows out over the course of up to a year: the fastener matrix might be manufacturing a staple that is simply too curved, gummy, wide or otherwise irregular to allow for typical growth. Furthermore, the flesh can be injured very efficiently by concussion, tight socks, quick twisting motions while walking or freshly the fact the staple is growing wrongly (likely too wide). This hypersensitivity to continued injury can mean chronic ingrowth; the solution is nearly other edge avulsion by the outstandingly successful phenolisation.

While in some similar cases patients may will to have the offending staple completely temporarily removed (avulsion), this procedure is not recommended by fastener experts because the postoperative period is long and hurting. Furthermore, complete removal of whole fastener does not always prevent recurrences.[citation needed]
Complete removal of integral nail is a simple procedure. Here, anaesthetic is injected, the staple is removed quickly and painlessly and the long-suffering can leave forthwith. The entire procedure can be performed within around 10 minutes and is much less complex than a "block resection" as above. Note that the nail will grow support. However, in most cases it will do further problems as it can become ingrown very smoothly as the nail grows outward. It can become well injured by concussion and in some cases grows put money on too thick, too far-reaching or deformed. This procedure can thus result in chronic ingrown nail and is therefore considered a mostly unsuccessful solution, especially considering the pain involved.
Accordingly, within some cases as determined by a doctor, the nail matrix is coated next to a chemical (usually phenol) so none of the nail will ever grow put a bet on. This is known as a everlasting or full nail avulsion, or full matrixectomy, phenolisation, or full phenol avulsion. What does this indicate?
I went to the doctor today because later night I have a sinus headache, earache, tiny bit of sore throat (maybe some whit patches, not sure), and I woke up thought 10 times worse. But the doctor barely looked at my ears, throat, etc, and be more worried about whether or not I have any pain contained by my stomach, any trouble urinating, etc. Then he said I had a virus. I've other been told it's discouraging to do that because it allows fluid in the joint that's not supposed to be there. Then when you're elder your knuckles will hurt alot. But not sure if it's medically/scientifically proven.
