Cassie, that one's no fun at adjectives. I waked up the other night next to my eyes snapping open at 2:30 A.M. Talk around feeling resembling an idiot! Usually when I wake up approaching that I feel a moment or two anxious, and that is because I probably ate something stupid previously retiring and it is getting its revenge. But when you just can't sleep, what I did be to wrap myself in the cover on my bed and sit on the turn-up of the bed and just carry quiet inside. You know, blank my mind. Not blame myself for self awake. When you can't sleep, the whole entry hinges on what you are recounting yourself. So do not upset yourself further by making a big deal out of it. Just read out very little to yourself and sit within quietly and turn out the wispy and be quiet inside. In in the order of fifteen minutes, you will begin to discern drowsy again. In about twenty minutes you can flop wager on into bed and just tolerate sleep overtake you. The whole impression of getting back to sleep or finding sleep surrounded by the first place is not to dramatise it. No big deal. "Here I am in recent times sitting on the edge of my bed. call your boy/girl friend
or permit your mother tell you a story... lol

I find it easier to get to sleep on a cold pillow, for some basis or other. So, if I've been lying awake for some time, I turn my pillow over. And, for me, "counting sheep" does work sometimes - I picture them, one at a time, jump over a gate, and count. I reflect on it's the boredom and stopping my mind from wandering which does the trick.
My husband swears by a small glass of whisky (as does my cousin who is 102!) and he other keeps some herbal sleeping tablets handy.
A cup of warm milk and a biscuit is relaxing.
Camomile tea is a herbal method, and lettuce sandwich!

I go to bed at 10.30pm drop asleep and then am broad awake at 1.30am/ Go to the bathroom, come on the pc shift back when I touch sleepy and then rouse up again at 2.45 and thats how my night go. As a longtime insomniac, I've tried only about everything lower than the sun, to greater or less degree of success. What I recommend is first start past its sell-by date with non-medicinal approaches, such as avoiding anything stimulating to your eyes and ears for at least possible an hour before going to bed. No TV, music, and the approaching. Go for a short walk outdoors if the warmth is pleasant. Melatonin is also available over-the-counter as a natural sleep enhancer. If this doesn't work...

...afterwards try low-grade medicinals, such as Nytol (diphenhydramine) or Dramamine (dimenhydrinate) about 30 minutes since bedtime. However, be aware that either of these, while their foremost effect is causing drowsiness, they may also lead to a "paradoxical effect", or make you get the impression wired or restless while drowsy (a truly strange sensation). If this doesn't work...

...it's doctor time. If you have no psychiatric issues (such as anxiety, depression, etc), your doc can recommend a prescription sleep aid such as Ambien or Lunesta. If anxiety is at the root of your sleeplessness, they may also (or contained by lieu of) prescribe an anxiolytic like Ativan (lorazepam) or Klonopin (clonazepam) to give a hand you relax. Note that especially as pertains to these last measures, they should be considered as intervening, and be used only until you can go down into a successful routine of non-medicinally induced sleep.

it sure does. also lots other side effects within the first month of taking it. Fluoxetine is a cheaper brand first name medication for Prozac. Stick with it, are you on 20mg x 1 day after day. Try to take at darkness before you stir to bed. Expect side effects, but remember they do pass. Be lenient, patient. Good luck and adjectives the best.
Though i do know someone who started taking it,they say it didnt trademark them sweat and that you wouldnt feel any effects even so at such an eary date.
My GP prescribed it for me but I only took it a couple of times as I have trouble falling asleep ...

i am on fluoxetine and it did impose lots of side effects at first. i had shakes/trembling hand, trouble sleeping, and strange vivid dreams to name a few. but these go away after a little while. it took a while for me to find the right dosage but surrounded by the end it be worth it. the side effects kinda suck but not as bad as man depressed or having lots of the other problems it treats. stick with it!! and my side effects go away after a while. check out these websites for more info:

I was on Fluoxetine and I notice that my palms got extraordinarily sweaty. There are lots of side effects to be aware off but to be honest they ending only a little and the benefits of being on the meds emphatically outway the side effects. I was on it for almost 10 months, come off them and haven't looked subsidise since (although I have have major issues) so I craving you all the thoroughly best. xxx

Well my fellow Dragon we have something else surrounded by common. My partner have dyspraxia and did not find out until now she is at Uni. It have not hindered her too much and is doing really well. She other knew something be wrong as she has to hold everything repeated to her many times up to that time she understands it. She also have to make list for everything so she can comprehend what she is doing. She also drives me mad when studying as unless she have perfect peace she cannot write up her work. On the plus side she have extra time to do exams and gets a PC and laptop provided and also qualify for a note taker although she have not requested one.
As I said she is doing well and partially way through her point so don't despair. Good luck :-)
