I am also a photic sneezer, fairly sensitive too. Instead of looking into the sun (which I do sometimes, but I try not to), I recommend looking at your fluffy (as long as it isn't one of those clear bulbs, those are bad) or looking at your computer blind. It doesn't quality close to its working at first, but if you do it for just about 30 second you'll sneeze.
