Legislation is not needed to bar smoking, people are free to choose between smoking and non-smoking establishments. If the non-smoking establishments do better lacking legislation then they will prosper. Legislating behavior have never worked and it will not work in this instance. Why should a smoker not be allowed into pubs, clubs, etc. where they'll smoke more, supply the governement next to more taxes from buying cigs, and live peacefully as well? I give attention to non-smokers are becoming spoiled brats. I smoke, and have never done so within a restuarant, etc. because I know it smells bad. But don't expect me to provide a * when I'm outdoors. If you don't like the smell of smoke, or inhaling it, later stay away from where smokers are allowed.!

I have to agree that smoking make illegal is a great idea, ironically today is the third year it is within operation in Ireland. When it come in first alot of empire where sceptical in the order of it but now three years on most general public here are happy near it and wouldn't have it any other course (even smokers) and when we travel to other countries that haven't got a make illegal it actually feel weird that we can smoke surrounded by these areas. From my unhealthy smoker's point of view the smoking stoppage, which comes into force in July 07 is the best point ever any government come up with. What it finances, at long horrible last, is that non-smokers will be capable of breath fresh air instead of my filthy smoke. Venues, which until the exclusion comes into force, which are really off boundaries to the majority of the population, who are non-smokers, will suddenly be available to them.

As I enjoy lived with the smoking proscription for a year now I guess I have a better perspective than you. I would hold had no problem next to well ventilate smoking areas or going outside but a blanket ban is ridiculous. Choice is never a fruitless thing. Consumers could simply choose not to spend their money within smoking establishments. The government is relieved enough to rake within taxes off the rear of the evil weed so lets not pretend they are against it. To the best of my wisdom, Parliament will be one of the few places outwith the ban, funny that. But consequently so are mental hospitals.
