Last Tuesday I had extreme edema and hot painful swelling contained by my left leg,I went to the ER and the diagnosed me next to phlebitis and sent me home. I have been taking motrin,elevating my leg,keeping stale it,and wearing support socks when I went the swelling was just about the size of a baseball in my calf. Now as of last hours of darkness I have swelling the size of two quarters side by side on my calf and one the size of a dime on my departed ankle and last night they started to whimper fluid which is like clear but on a tissue it appears yellowish blood tinged,but doesn't have an odor. It is somewhat difficult to suffer my weight,the weeping is moderate to heavy and it feel like the first layer of flesh on the larger one is gone. Should I be in motion back to the ER or let it save draining at home? Also is this a serious complication that would require amputation? I refuse to have my leg amputated I will commit suicide if they do it I eliminate to live that way! Anyone have any view what is going on and what I should do?

Answers:    I'm not a medical professional but the only advice I can administer you is to stay in contact with your doctors and if you see trouble walk to the ER right away.

I am however an amputee. I'm not sure if such a condition could lead to amputation, but trust me it isn't the end of your time. I've been missing my right leg above the knee since I be 5. I drive, I have great job, I walk to university, I wall climb, I swim, I do everything a healthy 21 year old does.
I haven't worn my leg contained by a little over a month because I had surgery but even on crutches I'm doing deeply. ( But my boyfriend has to cook for me because I can't use the hot stove and balance...and I'm spoiled).

I mull over that going to your regular Dr (family practice, internal medicine) would be a better option. ER docs do not have your complete history at appendage and they may be on a roatation schedule so getting consistant care would be difficult. Also you could achieve a referral to a specialist if needed. if i was you i would go to a home doctor or go back 2 the E.R. you wouldnt want anything doomed to failure 2 be wrong && if something was then u might want it 2 return with checked out right? so yea thats the only advice i can administer to ya!
