They are pretty happy to sell Benson and Hedges etc brands but dont want to help yourself to their own brand downmarket

That is true. Also keep in mind, in attendance is a very heavy vice toll on tobacco products. It would likely not be cost effective for a supermarket to payment the taxes of a dedicated tobacco conglomerate. i had some other save brand cigs before, they taste like cardboard. so that would probably be why. i mean, seriously, it be very gross.
