I have white spots on the back of my throat even though my tonsils were taken out when i was little?
Answers: yes it could be thrush but didnt you know that eventhough you had your tonsils out that doesnt stop you from getting infections like strep or glandular fever dont go panickin it just sounds like thrush, sorry i cant remember the name but you can buy a paste for oral thrush why dont you look up your nearest chemist and give them a ring..
White spots in back of the throat could be an infection with either bacteria or yeast (Candida or Monilia) - a normally benign, very common fungus often found on body surfaces). A throat culture in a medical lab could confirm which it is. It might also be some thickening of the surface and related to smoking (white patches called leukoplakia). By the way, tonsils are usually on the sides of the back of the throat and not in the back midline. This is not an answer to the question, because you've had enough good guesses by other people, but I just HAD to comment on the person saying it could be a vocal cord nodule.
You CANNOT see a vocal cord nodule by looking into the mouth at the back of the throat. It is impossible to see the vocal cords without a special mirror that you stick down your throat or a laryngoscope, which is an instrument doctors usually use when you are unconscious and they want to put a tube down your throat.
IT IS NOT A NODULE..
sounds like a throat infection/oral thrush...you should go to the doctor to get a proper diagnosis and the correct treatment It could be a nodule. If you get it on your voice corde you can lose your voice. Has it been checked by a doctor?.
oral thrush, before you get to the doctor try a mouth wash with salty water
