How much does the average psychologist make?
Answers: depends on the field, $50,000 - $100,000
A drug counselor will make around $30,000-$50,000 (not technically a psychologist because they don't necessarily have the advanced degree)
A therapist charges $65-125 an hour but has other expenses to run the business (so it depends on their business)
A school psychologist makes $60,000-$110,000 but only works 1000 hours a year.
An industrial organizational psychologist makes $100,000 right out of college!
Like I said, depends on the field. Not all psychologists just sit and listen to your problems. Those are called therapists..
It depends on the type of psychologist you are referring to, but if you mean Clinical Psychologist then these are the figures in Canada based on years of experience:
(hourly wage)
1-4 years: $40
5-9 years: $43
10-19 years: $102
20 years +: $113
Keep in mind that these are billable hours, it does not mean that psychologists are working 8 billable hours per day.
I got these figures from PayScale website. It has salaries for nearly every job, it's great. You can search salaries based on different countries too. Here is the website in case you don't live in Canada:

it depends on pre-requisite.
The more university diplomas, that more you can charge...Or you could do probono. Sit down, listen to problems, give them bullsh*t feedback that has almost nothing to do with what their talking about, good career..
