How do you convince your parents to get you contacts?
Answers: I am 13 1/2 and i really want contacts. Everytime i think i have the courage to go ask my mom to let me buy contacts i chicken out. She gets so intimidating. She has contacts of her own, but she won't let me get mine. she never wears hers though. She bought many pairs of them but she never even wore one. i asked her a long time ago for contacts but she keeps on telling me that i will get an eye infection if i wear them. HAH! thats mean. but i am planning on asking her at this point.

I'm sorry, but I don't think you should even try. Not only are they more expensive, but they are completely annoying (they keep falling out or drifting casually out of place) and can actually rip more easily then you'd think. If you get an allowance put it in a savings account with good interest and ask if your parents can add for it, but I think you should try for laser eye surgery so you wouldn't have to worry anymore. OK? Anyways, just try to reach your goals with that savings account if your heart is really set on contacts. Contacts are much more expensive then glasses. If you think your parents can afford them then just ask. If not, then lay off your folks they are probably doing the best they can for now and sooner or later you will be on your own and you will figure out if you can budget for them or not. Now most likely if they can afford them or on the borderline then show them your responsible enough for them - take care of your glasses is a starter.
