How do surgeons stand for over 10 hours on a surgery?
Answers: The same way mailmen walk for 8 hours, or soliders and policemen and security guards stand for a whole 10-12 hour shift, or the way cashiers stand for their 8-12 hour shifts?
its something one gets use to with doing it..
most surgeons don't stand for over 10 hours for one surgery, i worked in OR before, most surgeries are done in like 2 hours seeing as how i had to clean 10 operation rooms in 8 hours. There are some surgeries that take longer but most of them are 2 hours...
also ever surgery is over staffed just incase, there's two extra nurses, so im sure there'd probably be another doctor or surgeon as well..
Some surgeons bring in more than one surgeon if things are going to go over a certain amount of time. Generally they know before hand if it is going to be complicated and they plan ahead of time. Interesting question...and not just standing but bent over a little bit too, probably...and it's not like they can just tag team it. I don't know! You should ask a surgeon!
