How do I know if I'm comatose?

Ok ok just in case you have your medical terms confused, comatose means in a coma, as is a deep state of unconsciousness. A comatose patient cannot be awakened, fails to respond normally to pain or light, does not have sleep-wake cycles, and does not take voluntary actions. Sometimes a patient in this state cannot breathe without a ventilator..
The fact that you are able to ask this question is a good sign. If you are looking for a scientific answer, I believe it is just a state of extended sleep caused by illness or injury. It has something to do with brain waves present during the coma. If you where comatose you wouldn't be able to ask this question..
The only way to be sure is call 911, and when the paramedics get there ask them.
