Laxitives will work but those are obviously not good for you so I of late don't know what to do? Any suggestions? Thanks

Answers:    You're lucky I found your question. I am the Queen of constipation! I'm on a lot of meds that wreak it.
1.Miralax works!! One tablespoon in water TWICE a sunshine. It's a lot cheaper if you get a prescription, but you can buy it at WalMart for $18.99 for a big one. Also thieve one or two generic STOOL SOFTENERS. Perfectly safe. 100mgs. ducosate sodium. In the laxative aisle.
2. You MUST do some kind of aerobic exercise every time. Walking is great. I do the treadmill. Stretch before and after. Work gradually (10 minutes more a day) up to at tiniest 30 minutes. A brisk walk in springtime (without stopping) is gorgeous. Swimming and jogging and stationary bike are all fitting. The longer the better!
3. No sugar. No Desserts. Hi-Fiber cereal is great! Kashi G-Lean is the best. Sold at Trader Joe's, Super WalMarts, and Target. Whole wheat breads, pasta, rice.
4. Drink LOTS of water! All day long. Buy a few bottles, maintain them, and refill them with cold thump water in the fridge. No soda! (Cold thump water actually taste good and is the healthiest, believe it or not. I don't care what you've read or hear on the news.)
5. Eat lots of fruits and veggies. No iceburg lettuce. Romaine or spinach. Anything darker. Apples, bananas, adjectives the summer melons, oranges, berries, peaches and plums.
6. Eat beans. I like Trader Joe's organic baked beans. Eat potatoes, tomatoes, GREENS! Stay away from cheese. Eat chicken , lean meat, ham. Brown rice or a baked potato. (Smart Balance margarine, or I can't believe it's not butter.) Try grease olive oil and Balsamic vinegar on a salad.

It sounds like you've brand of tried all these, but not all at duplicate time. Try it for two weeks. Don't forget the aerobic exercise. It's a drag, but it's worth it the next morning! Start with a generic Fleet Enema ($1 at any drug store.) I other keep one on hand surrounded by case of emergency.! I haven't needed one for months. but take one to carry you started.

Bless you and Good luck!.
If your having a really bad time next go back to the gasternurologist and own them do an endoscopy/colonoscopy on you and see whats wrong because if your eating that much fiber you've got something wrong...i used to enjoy that problem...the only thing that help is taking a laxative...i take one in the morning and one at hours of darkness. If your stomach really hurts just take a suposatory (can't spell) Cause i used to be equal way...i'd eat a together box of e-lax and nothing would help. I judge you should try another doc. I had a friend with similar problems, her doc be no help. She FINALLY found a doc who knew what be wrong with her. He gave her meds and she have very few problems now. He body be removing TOO much of the liquid in her colon. I'm not dictum that's your problem, but I'd go see someone else.
Good luck and best wishes..
doctor!! too much fiber can be bad too, it's stops u up- sort of similar to a drain. colace is just a stool softner, it doen't help you progress, where are your pains located? on your right side? if so could be stones in impudence bladder or gall bladder problems. they took mine out because of this.try googleing "gall bladder" and see if this help..
You should try to have insoluble fiber, not soluble fiber. Both are listed as "fiber" on the nutrition label, although some specifiy soluble or insoluble. You will have to do a little google-ing to find out what type you are consumption. Also, don't eat too much or too little. There is no official recomended day by day allowance (RDA) for dietary fiber. However, official guidelines advise give or take a few 20-25g of fiber per day, for both men and women. It is best to get your dietary fiber easily from high-fiber foods rather than from bran or general fiber supplements.
