Answers: OUCH! I did that end year, but on my lip. :( The silly thing ended up infected and I have to have it cauterized... WORST THING EVER! (If yours is infected, insist on antibiotic cream, which I didn't know they even HAD, instead of letting them come at you with chemical cautery. Shudder).
It could be that your body is a short time ago "favoring" that side due to inflammation, or it could be that there's an infection that spreading. Do you have any lumps under your chin or on your collar on that side (could indicate an infection).
Do you REALLY mean you "can't" swallow, or that it hurts to swallow? If you literally *can't* swallow, you should get to a doctor pretty darn sudden (not like emerg or anything, but go to a clinic today). It could be one of your nerves is man impacted, and that means you need to carry treatment. If it just hurts to swallow, then it may or may not be related. Either style, it's probably worth getting checked out.
None of us on here can tell you if it's related or not, since we can't even see inside your mouth! :) Go to your doc, it's worth getting seen. Plus if it's an infection, some moral antibiotics will help clear it up really quickly, which will be great! :) Good luck!
