Are the diptheria, polio and tatanus vaccination called for at 15, coz i missed mine and the clinic is asking?
Answers: You DO need a booster for dip/tet/polio.NOW.
It should protect you indefinitely,BUT if you own an accident involving soil,manure,rusty barbed chain etc you MIGHT need a tetanus booster--The jab protects for up to 15 years
Diphtheria--you are drastically unlikely to contract
Polio--the immunisation gives lifelong protection.
Yeah, I seem to remember it be 15 or 16 when my surgery contacted me for my booster shots.
It's routine. And as far as I remember, this booster should last you for the rest of your life, barring incidents that might bring you into direct contact beside any of these illnesses, in which has another shot might be essential depending on the time since your last..
