Answers:    The body is placed into the retort (cremation chamber) for in the region of 4 hours at 1800 degrees. The body does not completely desintigrate, thus after the cremation takes place, any remaining bone fragments are placed into a pulverizer and ground down to a more uniform consistency. The remains are later returned to the family.
