How can I increase my lung size?
What would be the rationale that I can hold my breath for longer than most people and even so my lungs are so small? How can I increase my lung capacity?
I'm 5'11" and a 145 pound mannish.
Answers: Simply intracostal diaphragmatic breathing - it is the technique used by actors and singers to increase lung dimensions and control breathing. Basically it means working the intracostal muscles between the ribs so the ribcage expands fully while using the diaphragm effectively.
There are plenty of books on it. Or capture some singing lessons!
Swimming is the best path to increase lung capacity beside a sport. This is why doctors say it's one of the best untaught aids for asthma. Also, a friend told me you can buy a gadget, a breathing buddy or something like that, which you put surrounded by your mouth and breathe through to 'train' your lungs to become more efficient. Hope that help a bit.
