Cholesteatoma?

I have have a Cholesteatoma (small benign tumor-like thing on eardrum), have anyone else? I have never met anyone else w/ one. I only wanted also to know how habitually they occur, and if it is genetic. So, yeah.

Answers:    Cholesteatoma can be a birth malfunction (congenital), but it more commonly occurs as a complication of chronic ear infection.
Sometimes the chronic ear infections are cause by a poorly functioning Eustachian tube. I'm not sure about the genetic point, but I think things similar to small Eustachian tubes can be inherited. Thus cause more ear infections.
