Reaction to flu shot?

I got a flu shot on Thursday morning, and today (Saturday) the nouns where I received the injection is still distinctly swollen and painful (feels resembling a bruise). I have never have a flu shot before, so I don't know if this is common or I should go vertebrae to the health center Monday to go and get this checked out. Anyone who's had this happen/is a medical professional and requirements to weigh in, I'd really appreciate your input. Thanks!

Answers:    Yep, this is common. Flu immunization sites can be swollen, bruised, and itchy for several days. You can also hold fever, muscle ache, and malaise (feeling blah). This doesn't mean you've caught the flu from the inoculation. This means your body is producing antibodies contained by reaction to the inoculation.

A true influenza vaccination "reaction" would include allergy-type reaction in empire sensitive to eggs, since the vaccine is cultured in eggs. There are also a little other, very dying out, reactions possible, but yours is adjectives and annoying but harmless.

Keep the nouns clean and try cool or cold moist pack to reduce the discomfort.

My flu shot be 2 weeks ago and it's still a little tender!
Yes, this have happened to me. You obligation to exercise that arm and that muscle in fastidious, massage it regularly, and put a warmness pack on if you think that would serve.

Now if it sits there and forms a big bump on your arm, beside a yellow lead in the center, you involve to see your dr. This serum did not absorb through your body, newly sat in attendance and got infected.

Take comfort.

The swelling and discomfort is not unusual and will subside, shortly. Don't favor your affected arm by not using it, a bit do use it as much as you normally do. The swelling and discomfort is due to the vaccine individual injected deeply into the muscle, and the muscle didn't much vigilance for the temporary company.

By using the arm muscle as you generally do, you'll help it work out the soreness and swelling. Just don't over exert the muscle (no lifting weights, push ups, etc.). If it really starts bothering you put an ice-pack to the nouns for 5 to 10 minutes every one to two hours as needed.

P.S. From what you've said/posted there is no sign/sx of infection. Also, DO NOT apply boil to the injection site. Use ice.
