How do doctors know if a being have menegitis or not?

are there any specific try-out they do?

Answers:    Some symptoms of both viral and bacterial meningitis are:

fever
stiff d¨Ścolletage
severe headache
sensitivity to light
vomiting
nausea
extreme sleepiness
confusion
commandeering

Doctors may do a spinal tap. If the meningitis is bacterial, this can aid the doctor decide which type of antibiotic to prescribe. To find out more in the region of the infection, sometimes the doctor will also do a brain scan. Bacterial meningitis is treated in the hospital near intravenous antibiotics.

If the meningitis is viral, it usually goes away on its own.

My sister have bacterial meningities.
Most often through blood test and analysis of the cerebrospinal fluid through lubar puncture.

Usually they rob a lumbar puncture sample...specifically a sample of spinal fluid and they can enlighten from the colour of it whether you have meningitis or not...sometimes they can describe from the symptoms...not always though..
