I thought an endoscope is a tube inserted down your throat to check for ulcers, etc. I have one long ago and I know that is what they call it. Also I thought thyroid is checked thru blood? Could she have possibly misunderstood, or is this a brand new procedure? Please medical field folks only.

Answers:    Thyroid is usually checked through a blood tryout eithr TSH or a thryoid level. Also they use CT scan to check but I have never hear of endoscope being used for thyroid.
