Why do they sterilize the hypodermic for poisonous injections?
Answers: Believe it or not, there are a couple of reason....
First, the injection might not actually put to death the condemned. On some very special occasions, relatives have survived "noxious doses" of euthanasia. The state has a responsibility to assure a prisoner's form should they survive.
Second is that the condemned may not be the only personage stuck with the plunger. Occasionally, accidents come to pass and the "executioner" might accidentally be stuck by the needle. I'd dislike intensely to think that someone get an infection or disease just for doing their chore.
Seems like a misuse of time doesnt it?
