I just quit smoking 3 weeks ago after smoking for over 14 yrs.
I would suggest to try to rein in the time you hang out beside those that do smoke. If you have a doctor, speech to him/her about some tips on quitting. Try to chew gum or suck on concrete candy when you have a craving. Also what I do is brush my teeth when I get the impression a craving, it works!!
If you feel that you can't quit cold turkey, wean yourself away from cigarettes. Find pictures of diseased lungs from smoking and look at them day after day, so that you can train yourself that smoking is bad for the vigour. Think positive and also don't underestimate the power of prayer, that is what is helping me. God can do anything!!
