I joined tons years ago. I had my initial blood test to determine my typing. I was call up once after that as I was a in the vicinity match to some poor soul that needed a transplant, they took more blood and found that someone else be closer in typing than I be, so I didn't donate bone marrow at that time.

I'm still on the register and receive regular newsletters from them. Even though I'm not actually doing anything at this stage, it make me feel honourable to know that my name is down, and that if ever I can relief , they will have access to me.

I'm sure here is a bone marrow program in most countries that you should know how to find online. In Australia it's at http://www.abmdr.org.au

Have a think going on for it, consider that you might be the very individual who can save some poor child's duration. If a chicken like me can do it, so can you :o)
