While measure the warmth of human body why do they preserve the thermometer below the tongue?

It's the place lowest affected by outside temp that you can use, besides the anus. They use rectal thermometers for babies because they can't save the thermometer in their mouths. We use them because we don't want a thermometer shoved surrounded by our anus! The location should not be affected by the external heat. You can also check under arm pit or for hot born babies, we check in their rectum.
