Latest adverse side-effect from anti-depressant drug Elavil?

Now, I don't know in the order of anyone else.... but if I was getting these side effects, I'd be more depressed than in need the drug..... mania, psychosis, and DEPRESSION are some of the side effects?!?!? Why would you pocket an anti-depressant that could CAUSE depression?
Why not take a organic product that helps to fluently support your mood like SAMe or St. John's Wart?
My friend took that and wound up within a mental hospital, it was WAY to strong for her, she have nasty side effects.
