Why are my eyes swollen after crying the dark earlier?

If I cry at night, from vote, 7pm on, the next morning, my eyes are swollen. Nothing will construct the swelling go down any. I want to know why that happens and how it can be prevented (other than not crying). :)

Answers:    Why do we enjoy swollen eyes after crying is the most interesting
question. Tears are salt, watery secretion that keep two celebrated
parts of the eye constantly moist. They flow over the cornea, the
transparent coating of the eye, and they lubricate the conjunctiva, the
membrane covering the white of the eye and lining the inside of the
eyelids. Tears also rinse out away stray bits of dust and grit and help
hold on to your eyes free of infections. These tears that constantly keep
your eyes moist, call the basic slash secretions, are produced on
the conjunctiva and also within the eyelids. These, of course, do not
explanation swollen eyes.
The tears that we cry over failed exams, lost loves or bitter
disputes are reflex tears, generate by the main lacrimal glands within
the upper, outer corner of your upper eyelid. When we cry, excess
tears overflow down the cheeks while the rest flows through tiny tear
drains into the proboscis and then into the throat. This explains the runny
hum and the strange voice that we get when crying. Excessive crying
may put strain on the lacrymal apparatus and create rosiness, or
itchiness of the eyes. Rubbing the eyes to relieve this itch also
contributes to redness and swelling. This is, however, individual half the
answer.
In certainty, the eyes and face become flushed and puffy because of the
heated response that always accompany crying. To explain this,
I’m afraid I have to say-so a few words about the human frightened
system. In addition to our "voluntary" fearful system (which controls
actions and thoughts), humans own two "autonomous" nervous
systems, which control the parts of the body that work "by
themselves", such as the heart or pancreas. The first one, call the
parasympathetic nervous system, is controlled by parts of the brain
responsible for our day-to-day involuntary bodily functions, such as
digestion and breathing. The other, call the sympathetic nervous
system, is controlled by centers of the brain and spinal cord that
respond to stressful conditions, such as threat or strong emotions.
When exposure, anger or fear activate the sympathetic nervous
system, we experience a "punch-up or flight" response. Adrenaline surges
through our bodies, pupils dilate, the tear glands disguise more fluid,
the heart begins pumping more blood more hastily, breathing
quickens, muscles nervous, and our senses stand ready to respond to
vulnerability. The body reacts to any strong sentiment, such as those that
cause crying, surrounded by this way. The facade becomes flushed and puffy from
blood flow and from the facial muscular hard work that crying generates.

Puffy eyes after a night’s sleep is easier to explain. It is most recurrently
related to drinking water deferred at night or have too much sodium in
the diet, which cause water retention. Basically, it method that water
have accumulated below the skin around the eyes. Such swollen eyes
can also be caused by paucity of sleep, too much alcohol, salt or
caffeine, and at hand is also a genetic predisposition. As you will see
on the internet if you type in "puffy eyes", frequent remedies are readily
available.

I hope that this answers your question,
Cheers !
I'm sorry to hear you've be crying at night. Put some cool drizzly tea bads on your (closed) eyes -that should take the swelling and glow down.
