Does anyone else on here hold a pic row...?
i only just got one surrounded by so jw.
Answers: Yes, I have have three pic lines. Two were clavicle and be in give or take a few three months. Each of them had three lumens. One be in my arm and be in in the order of 7 weeks. I didn't mind them too much. The one in my arm have two lumens. I cut the top off a sport sock and pulled it up over the vein so that the lumens didn't catch on anything. I have to infuse both of them daily so that they didn't occlude. Keep the nouns clean and don't pick or chisel at them. If the line feel a little irritated, enjoy the nurse advance it a short time bit. Sometimes the line merely needs minor adjustment to be comfortable.
A PICC line is a peripherally inserted centralized catheter. It is place in the upper arm usually and it is awfully long and goes adjectives the way to the big vessel close to the heart. It may get annoying but it will prevent you from have to be stuck multiple times for IV access that is vital for patient unloading frequent blood products(like weekly or more), chemotherapy, or long term antibiotics(some of which can burn small vein very badly). They can also be used for lab draws. They must be properly care for.
The itching is probably related to the tape or dressing covering thepicc, not the picc file itself.
You will probably have to save it in until your treatment is completed or until it stops working usually due to bad-mannered care and packing of the procession with Heparin. You should enjoy been qualified all of that, if you should not really bother. Leave that to the professionals.
So however annoying it beats frequent IV sticks which are really painful and destroyed vessel from harsh products mortal infused into your small veins.
Hope this help.
