I have a bit of a sore throat and a cough, which the cough feel like its because there's some mucus contained by my throat that I can't get out. What's cause this?

I should also note I've be having discouraging allergy reactions to the dust within my house and sometimes even my dogs here in the house.

Also, I don't own a fever or anything of that sort any.

Post-nasal drip, the mucus runs down the throat cause irritation and a cough. I swear by Mucinex if it's so bad I can't sleep. Dust allergies are cause your body to try and flush the area verbs with mucus, and making you miserable contained by the process.

Do you smoke? It may be a factor. You could also have a chest infection. Go to the Doctor. He will direct blood tests. You may necessitate antibiotics.
