Nurses: Which process is the nasal cannula supposed to dance within?

My text book say "Nasal cannula (prongs) are positioned so they curve towards the nares and oxygen is directed upward into the nose."

I don't know if that resources the prongs curve towards the body or away from the body. Which way is the "correct" direction to hold the prongs curving? Curving towards or away from the body?

I have a prac exam on Tuesday, so won't own time to ask the tutor again before next.

Thank you for your help.

Answers:    The prongs curve toward the body.
The curve of the prongs should follow the intuitive anatomic structures. They should not be pointing up. They should be placed so that the curve of the prongs is heading into the nose.

I found a nasal cannula on a long-suffering backwards at work the other day. You nurses unequivocally don't get satisfactory education something like oxygen administration. In my hospital, I win to recommend therapies to nursing, approaching nebulizer treatments. I hate it when something is indicated and the nurse disagrees next to something that is written adjectives over the wall and blindingly obvious.... My rant for the hours of daylight. Please know your equipment, know your indications, and know what you're doing.
as she wish
