Child Vomiting constant for 8 days. What else can I do?

My daughter started having stomach problems give or take a few 2 months ago. She would throw up about 1-2 times a week. Went to the doctor she give antacids. Last Monday night she stared vomiting and have not stopped since. At first I thought it must be separate and a stomach virus. But when she did not stoped I took her to the Doc on thursday. She was proscribed Promethethazine but it did not relief. She was surrounded by the ER by friday night and have to be given an IV for dehidration. And sent home with a unknown sublingual med. It also did not help. I be so frustrated A weekend of her vomiting and as of yet everyone be assuming it was still a virus. Yet no other virus symptoms, no temp, no cough, no diareah (in certainty no #2 at all for a week) Today I be back to the doctor and finally they hold decided to start running test. I am waiting on urine culture (dispite the fact they hold already found blood and signs of infection they are waiting) She had stomach Xray today. blood oral exam and such.

Answers:    First of all when someone is vomiting as much as she is they should distribute suppositories (even if they do suck). At least that means of access if she throws up she won't be throwing up the medicine. The most substantial thing is to preserve her from dehydrating. Drink as much liquids as possible (Gatorade would be honourable because it has electrolytes). In reality Gatorade is like Pedialyte (given to babies who enjoy diarrhea and vomit ting). One difference is Gatorade has sugar when Pedialyte doesn't enjoy nearly as much. Other than this you need to lurk for the tests. If she hasn't a bowel movement is it because she is constipated or a moment ago because she hasn't eaten anything to stipulation to go. If she is constipated they should hold given her a laxative. Oh by the way if Promethazine doesn't work nearby are others. Call your Dr and get him to amend it. Zofran is expensive but I've heard it works very well. It now have a generic. I would call your insurance though and see if they would cover it. Zofran is commonly used next to patients who have chemo psychotherapy. My sister needed to go on it when she be pregnant because she couldn't keep anything down for a month and lost 15lbs.
Sounds horrible. 8 days is a long time. You necessitate to take your toddler to a hospital. It could be something a lot more serious than a virus. i.e. way beyond asking someone on yahoo bring her to the hospital again she possibly suffering from somthing more serious take her to the hospital again if she keep vomiting they may want to give her an IV for nutrients that she may be vomiting out...moral luck
just hang about for the test results for immediately comfort them, get them soup, hot chocolate, even rime cream.
depending on how old they are procure them things they can play with or use.
That is upsetting. Stay on your doc's case. Good luck! Btw---what a stupid point for the first person that answered to voice! i know someone with a similar problem...they vomit for a week straight every couple months and its not a virus. it could be closely of things that causes it...the doctor should do a brain scan, scan the stomach, intestines, appendix...everything. something that severe is not a virus.
That little girl requests to be in the hospital. I'd jump to a pediatric ER if at all possible and DEMAND she be admit until this gets resolved. Did they try phenergan suppository?

I know a friend whose little girl completed up with a burst appendix beside the same symptoms. God Bless and pious luck!
I'd insist on having her admit to the hospital so they can find out what is causing it. Take her pay for to the ER, and demand that she be admit to get her diagnosed properly.

Are any of the other children sick? Do any of them enjoy a history of becoming ill near something that was difficult to diagnose?
Your child should be admit to the hospital for observation. She is at risk for dehydration, electrolyte discrepancy, malnutrition, etc.

Personally, I would steal her to the ER for evaluation. Chances are, the doctor will admit her to the hospital.

Do you hold a children's hospital in your nouns? Take her there.
What country are you surrounded by.

You are right in continuing to run her to the doctor and pushing for a solution. Suggest if the baby is still vomitting, taker her to the hospital and hold her admitted so she can be put on IV
Keep fluids down her for sure, approaching pedialyte, or gator ade. My daughters best friends little girl did that and she had ecoli poisoning, you better win her to a good medical coaching hospital before she is any worse. NO child should do that for any amount of time. If they speak about you it is normal find another doctor, it is not typical. Take her to another doctor.
Take her to a different ER.
Take her to a gastroentologist.
How old is she?
could she own a strange onset of pyloric stenosis?
Obviously your doctor isn't listen to you.
if you have a pastor or a priest, ask him to come and together near your spouse, lay your hands on your daughter and come together together and pray to God and Jesus Christ. oh my,
that sounds terrible!

I would be so upset,
your poor little girl!

Good luck,
try your best to do things she resembling (favourite movies, shows, games) and other stuff to distract her,
when I was little and sick it be the things like getting to sleep on the couch, keep under surveillance tv all daytime, wear pjs and have my parents compensate me lots of attention that made me feel better.

Medically, nearby probably isn't much you can do until the results come back,
but you can try to construct it easier on her.

best of luck!
She needs to stir to the hospital. She'll be suffering from malnutrition and stomach problems and for this to be going on for 8 days is a drastically long time. The best you can do is take her to the hospital, apart from that it's probably out of your hand at this stage. Call the doctor. Don't wait!
How does she be aware of when she is sitting up? My advice is to not tolerate her lie down flat. Keep her spinal column elevated at an angle. Not straight up or anything, just a semi reclining position. Sometimes, this position will stability out those stomach juices. it will also not stimulate the gag reflex. Often, when you throw up greatly, the body is super sensitive to these things. Hey, it can't hurt. Just use a billion pillows.

Obviously, you are feeding her things approaching water melon, chicken broth, 7-up, ginger ale, crackers, etc. Personally, the with the sole purpose thing that stops me from puking is lime sorbet. I own no idea why, but it works for me.
It could be some sort of blockage within the intestine.
theres no way to give an account you since I am not a doctor, but vomiting without a bowel movement or blood stools ect could indicate a blockage of some sort. she could enjoy gastrointeritis.it could be anything- even something missed since she was born.

i know it's heartbreaking to see a child as sick as she is. let's hope you will hold answers soon. i hope she's feeling better soon!
She can't loaf til Thursday. Have her admitted and let's get hold of a bunch of fluids into her, probably by IV.

You don't say how outmoded the child is or her other general strength, but this sounds like it would be a dutiful idea to move about ahead and do an MRI on the abdominal cavity, and get a stool culture also. I'm guessing that this is any a virus that will run its course, or is something much much more serious that needs more instantaneous attention. Make sure the doctor tests for reflection tenderness adjectives over the abdomen.

Good luck to you both. - Stuart
Typically problems similar to this arouse when there is an rejection or intolernace to a specific food or protein. Could you eloaborate on her typical diet?
I significantly recomment having her tested for celiac diease. This is an intolerance to gluten, a protein found surrounded by wheat, barley, & rye.
Symptons may include a lack of or excess realease of stool , vomitting, fatigue, stomach ache etc.
I would also look into chrons disease.
I highly doubt this is a virus, and it is meaningful you look into chronic dieases. Be sure to write down all of her symptoms and to hold on to a record of everything.

Best wishes.
If she have a stomach x-ray today, you should have the result today, tomorrow morning at the most modern. Be insistent with the doctor that you seize the results.

You didn't mention if there be pain that preceded the vomiting. What is her blood pressure? Any headache?

A two month duration suggests this is not new kick-off diabetes or glomerulonephritis. A partial malrotation would be one diagnosis I would check out. It's usually seen contained by infants, but older children sometimes present near it. Affected children are in profusely of pain.
you know the end time (well actually the with the sole purpose time) this happened to me I have a severe kidney infection that shut down my kidneys.. I would suggest you take her to the hospital (preferably a childrens hospital if you hold one close by) I was contained by the hospital for 9 days and I did nothing but throw up bile for the first 6 days of it... she requirements to be in the hospital where on earth they can monitor her and run tests and find out exactly what is going on.. This sounds close to a serious health crisis. Do not rest until you attain your health professionals to treaty with it. Your daughter can develop serious complications such as dehydration, electrolyte imbalance (electrolytes are minerals that are critical to the body's chemistry) maybe even kidney bomb. Some kids can have gastric reflux, or it could be something entirely different. Going to a childrens hospital is a totally good concept. Good Luck
I'd be worried about a bowel log jam or an ileus if she were my forgiving and hadn't pooped in a week. That's purely my suspicion, and I am, after all, "JUST a nurse.."

Good luck.
