How can I attain my ears to drain?

Lately sometimes when I get a cold I draw from fluid in my ears - I can hear it and its annoying. It doesnt grounds pain or problems so I dont shift to the doc but wondered if theres anything I can do to encourage it to drain? Ive popped them and that hasnt worked - any accepted wisdom?

Answers:    Take an over the counter decongestant. Your ears are connected to your sinuses (never totally understood how but own been assured by doctors that this is the case) so if you filch the decongestants the fluid in your ears will travel away. Just be sure to drink plenty of water as the decongestants will dry you out. If the decongestants don't work after a couple of days (I'd rob them at night lone for three nights so you don't touch drowsy during the day) then it's time to see the doctor. Hope you're better soon.
Try lay your head to the side for almost 20 mins each side...sometimes they will drain that method. I wouldn't recommend skipping out on the doctor though, it may be an inner ear issue.
