My boyfriend have the beginnings of a cold - how can I avoid catching it?

It's just come on suddenly over a few hours and he sounds really below par bless him. Obviously I'm gonna be giving him lots of lemsips and looking after him but I've gotta give an essential presentation next week so I really don't want a cold anytime soon, so how I can avoid catching it since we live together too?

Answers:    Other family will be telling you going on for vitamin C, onions, lemsip etc. These may help to be in charge of the symptoms but you should also try and reduce the risk of infection.

Cold virus' are transferred by contact, breathing surrounded by sneeze drops and kissing are good ways of doing it. Try not to breath surrounded by his exhaled (virus laden) air. You don't own to wear a mask, but it might relief if he does.

Maintain hygene. Wash your hands after handling anything he may hold sneezed into, after touching him (anywhere) and certainly in the past handling and eating food.
This includes wash your hands after handling his bed sheets and clothes too.

When you eventually succomb (hopefully after your presentation) he will be recovered plenty to nurse you. Enjoy it!
You can't guarentee you won't catch it but plenty of vit C(oranges if you don't want to help yourself to tabs) and strangely enough rare onions!! Read about this surrounded by an article once, I eat loads of coarse onions (and garlic) and work with kids so am constantly around cold germs, I never come across to catch one. As for the living together situation, clear sure you open the window so there is plenty of fresh nouns circulating.
Hope you stay healthy!!
